When i type "" in any window (msn, firefox, xfire, etc.) my default audio player opens.

I'm 100% certain it's not a keyboard shortcut, as when my PC is reformatted and i type it windows media player opens (that's before I've had chance to install foobar) And yes when foobar is installed it opens that instead. This problem is VERY hard to google, thanks to google not wanting to count "" even in speech marks...

Can anyone help? Possible reasons? And ways to maybe stop it. It get's really annoying after a while

You even heve it when you reinstalled your windows? Sure you got a legit copy of windows? Coz it looks borked.

It's happened on two different versions of windows I have.
Maybe it's some kind of conflicting program?

I was thinking it maybe happens when i type just ":" But im not sure, it doesn't happen every time I press it; It's rather inconsistent.

Have you tried with another keyboard?

As I said it'd be trial and error to try with another keyboard as it doesn't happen every time I type it. That plus the fact im not at cable accessible length to my PC.

I _think_ it has happened with another keyboard though, as every time I reinstall I have to use a PS2 connection keyboard.

Well, it sounds like a faulty/shorted keyboard, so I suggest you try a differnt keyboard to be sure.

You know, I think you're right. As I have a pre programmed hotkey on my keyboard for bringing up my music app, which I never noticed before really until looking now.

It's somewhat inline with my close bracket key too. It's funny how it doesn't bring it up with just the bracket key though...

edit: I'm actually able to make it come on now, holding shift down pressing ":" and then pressing ")" it pops up every time i do it now, it's when shift and ":" is held at the same time and then pressing the bracket key. It's very weird, even though it is a hardware fault.
