yes sadly enough Shadow team has been closed now by our owner Adad  :'(

don't know the exact story, but he said "the time has come to close the community down, due to lack of player's on the server" or something like that. i can understand the servers, (we had like 4 running) but he also closed the forums down too :(

This came as a shock to most of us.  :-\

BI won't ever close down with low-popuated servers.  We're too used to it!

I think Adad faced a problem we had for a long time as well, being none that appreciates your hard work with cold hard cash.
What I mean with this is that as an admin you have to more or lessconstantly put effort in your server and most of the time you're the one paying it all as well. That is something that lowers your morale to pay over time, certainly when you see less and less players on your server.

Well, from what I get most of the community we're being dicks (I've played loads of games there) like the regulars that is, they weren't really encouraging others to come back, specially when they renewed the server, they were being dicks: They hardly ever joined (but still always messed around on IRC) and the few times I got 1 or 2 so far to join in, the others were just saying nah, don't want to.

Also, before that they behaved dickish, being hardly helpfull and arrogant (most of the mods that is) While I loved most people individually, as a community, they were a dick I am afraid, sorry to here, but not unexpected...

I still hope Adad is on the BI IRC so I can give him a proper goodbye though.

I agree, its one of those places where you dare not say anything, because you'd get a response from some arrogant 16 year old, telling you to STFU or some other childish comment.
The same with the forums, a horrible atmosphere.

As we did yesterday :) Got it to about 5 v 5 i think was the most players we got in there.

we actually had 14 in the server on Friday - that with with 2 random gamespy users joining to begin with. :D

e had moments with 6 vs 6 (that was with me and leeum) but not whole games I believe, it was fun though.

If I may ask, what was your reason to go to ST in the first place? I mean before you all did play on the BI server, so there must have been a reason to leave, right?

Nope, we played there because of their custom settings and marathon server settings.
Ability to drop weapons in your inventory, and when you die you drop a backpack containing all picked up weapons and some original weapons. Was very nice, even with a low amount of players in. And of course maps with no time :P We mentioned this a lot.

They also wanted a change from the "Fun-Loving", "Extremely talented", "Good natured" and, of course "Handsome" Moderation team at BI (Except Dex, ofc, who is possibly only fun-loving).  Sometimes you need a break from perfection.
