As you might have read, we are going to upgrade our server to have a Core 2 Quad instead of a Core 2 Duo. Our current Core 2 Duo E4300 (1.8 GHz) to a Core 2 Quad Q6700 (2,66 GHz).
We are also going to add in a "new" used 400 GB disk for more storage and try to get an old SCSI disk back to work so that we will once again have three SCSI disks.
This maintenance is planned for Saturday, 23 May 2009.
We are leaving at 9 AM CEST (http://www.blackintel.org/time.php?time=23-05-2009+0900+CEST) from our parents' houses, to arrive at 10 AM (http://www.blackintel.org/time.php?time=23-05-2009+1000+CEST) at the shop which sells the CPU. We expect to arrive at the data center by 11:30 AM (http://www.blackintel.org/time.php?time=23-05-2009+1130+CEST), at which we will shut the server down and start the maintenance. We do not know when it will be done, but expect at least a few hours downtime. If we run into unforeseen problems, it may happen that we will be unable to complete maintenance on Saturday, in which case it will remain down until Sunday.

For those of you who don't want to be VOIPless when the server is down, my vent server will still be running.
You will have to connect through IP instead of ventrilo3.blackintel.org.

DNS servers weren't down (we don't host our own :P) so I guess ventrilo3 would have worked.
We're done with the updates. It took longer than expected but it's running smoothly again. :)

I think I removed it when i took new pictures. Will try o upload these today or tomorrow.

The Green Philips screwdriver is what ensured you of good gameplay, it's a key component of our server!

We're doing very will in First Strike. Yeah, when you guys look it may say 0, but we are one of, if not *THE* busiest servers in the game.

the problem is we went into ut3 for the simple reason of ren x but not many people like it or play it often
we need a popular game with a big online comunity like, call of duty 4 , counter strike source, call of duty 5
and it would be nice to see bi people on gwyns vent as its a nice place XD

Yeah, well that was all said back in the topic where we decided what game to pick. Then ut3 was the best from the short list drawn up.

No popular game will work if u don't set a base. COD 4 and 5 also have much more empty than full servers. However, if u can setup an active and friendly environment, you'll get people to join it :).

Although pc version of both are pretty lame. Way to easy, click and one bullet dead. Mouse makes it un fun imo. But this isn't the conversation! So yet again I'm gonna ask, what are the plans for this sexier server?
Perhaps there are plans for new servers? Well are there? What games? what are these plans?

Not as far as i know, plus there are very little people I personally know that play. And could never guarantee a huge turn out. (10 or so people is all I could ever promise)
Many games I enjoy are hosted on a selected players console (cod4) and other games like fifa 09 are hosted on EA servers. Console servers confuse me greatly.
