There was a staff meeting on Monday, and among other things we discussed the results of the Meeting Location Poll (http://forum.blackintel.org/general-discussion/blackintel-meet-2011-location/). Right now, it's looking like it's going to be in the UK, leaving me to organise it. We're now officially starting the first stage of planning for this event.
Right now, the only place I've found suitable is Loch Lomond (http://www.google.co.uk/images?q=loch+lomond&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1600&bih=682). It is close to both Edinburgh and Glasgow (Two International Airports), making it easy to get to for a lot of people. I am also a little bit familiar with the area as I've been there before, although many years ago. It's a very beautiful part of Scotland, and there are a number of activities within the area so we shouldn't be short of anything to do.
I'm not sure on the time of year yet, originally I was planning on May (start of the "warm" season), however I didn't take things like school holidays into account so right now I've put July in the thread title, however I can see about organising it any weekend over May/June/July. The issue with doing it after May is the Midges come out to play, which most of you will find really irritating.
Also, the location isn't final (if anyone has any other suggestions, PLEASE let me know), as many of the places I've checked so far have been pretty expensive. I've checked how much it'll cost for flights from a number of countries by booking one month in advance:
- Dublin: 10Euro
- Germany: 32Euro
- Finland: 50Euro
- Hungary: 15,000HUF
- Latvia: 40LVL
As in the last thread, I need to know who is interested in coming up. Please post in this thread or PM me if you can come. Let me know when in May/June/July 2010 suits you most, we'll be doing it over a weekend. If you are in the UK and can drive, or live elsewhere and can rent/bring a car, please let me know as that's something we'll be running short of.

For those in the US, you're looking at approximately $1,000 one way. And that's with one stop, in coach. You can find some as low as $700 though.
Last week of June through mid august is good for me.

Why isn't NL included in the flight prices list :(
Anyway, in summer the prices are a lot higher than in end oktober, so you might as well end up with double or triple the prices mentioned above.

My two-way flight would cost me $1,388 to Glasgow. I think I could manage that with help from my parents. I REALLY want to come. :) I don't care where we go.

On the dates:
I'm certainly UNAVAILABLE in the weekend of 28th of May, due to my birthday on the 31st.
I would prefer the meet to be after the 15th of July, due to start of holidays then, or in one of the weekends below (also holidays):
2nd of June till the 5th of June
10th of June till the 13th of June
On the location:
I'm most likely NOT coming by car, unless:
The location is farther to the south and I can borrow a car, or
It's after the 15th of July and more than 2-3 days and I can borrow a car.
Oh, and your definition of an airport nearby is like half of the Netherlands already (west to east that is). :P

No idea yet. I'll probably try to get an internship for July+August so end of June/early July would be best for me.

July is majorly preferred for me, as (in Denmark) the uni-year doesn't end until the 25th-26th of June...

I'm pretty sure that I've done with my military service long before those dates (hopefully :) ).
May,June,July all those months are ok with me same thing with dates, weekends are good for me + 50e from Finland ain't much so I might even have money for the planeticket :D

Don't worry, cake WILL be provided. There is an place near here that does awesome cakes, and they are also HUGE, and I plan to bring one.
